Ingredients

The products I make use ingredients that I have selected specific to their purpose and I never include anything that just bulks out the end product. Your body deserves the best, and you should know exactly what you are using and why it's the best decision you will make when it comes to your health.

Below are the primary ingredients I use in most of my products, along with information about their benefits and why I prefer using them.

Oils make up the bulk of body butters and about 30% of a lotion. No matter which product they are used for, having the best quality ingredients is just as important as making a product feel and smell great. All of our suppliers have been vetted to ensure our ingredients are not coming from slave labor, and are sustainably harvested.

 Apricot Kernel Oil

This is an oil that appears in pretty much every product I make. This oil is sustainably produced, has excellent shelf stability, and the benefits for your skin make it the best choice as a base for any skincare regimen. It has a very small molecular size compared to other oils, which allows it to penetrate the outer layer of skin, known as the epidermis, easily and deeply. Apricot kernel oil is also nutrient-dense with high levels of vitamins A and E, oleic and linoleic acids. While it is very emollient, it does not leave your skin feeling greasy.

 Babassu Seed Oil

Babassu seed oil is an excellent alternative to coconut oil, though it shares many properties, like being solid at room temperature. It has higher levels of oleic and linoleic acids than coconut and is less greasy. Babassu oil has also been shown to help increase the amount of hydration that passes through the epidermis when used in a lotion. As there have been reports of sensitivities to coconut becoming more prevalent, babassu oil is a great alternative.

 Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter has been a staple skincare ingredient for hundreds of years. It is light, has a very low melting point, and creates a thin barrier on your skin, which helps other ingredients stay in your skin while protecting it from the environment. Depending on the product, I use either an unscented or natural cocoa butter, as sometimes that cocoa scent is deliciously delectible, while other times it gets in the way of other ingredients.

Many products use straight water for hydration. While this is good, I feel it can go so much further. This is why I make my own botanical infusions for each product, so you get the hydration from water and additional skin health benefits from the botanicals.

Another word that many perceive to be dirty and should be avoided. However, when making any product that contains water, it needs to have some help to prevent microbes and fungi from forming in the product. The preservatives I use all adhere to the organic standard and never release toxic chemicals like formaldehyde into the product. While I use a small enough quantity to not be required to list them on the ingredients, I do so anyhow to ensure you know everything that is going on your skin.
